Retro revivals to spirit Red Wings?
As we begin the 2009 NHL playoffs this week, the Detroit Red Wings are looking to defend their 2008 Stanley Cup title. Last Saturday, the men of Joe Louis took to the ice in throw-back jerseys with the big script “D”. Incidentally, as I’m working on my pictures from the game, I noticed an uncanny resemblance between current Red Wings rookie Jonathan Ericsson and legendary Red Wing Steve Yzerman, pictured in his rookie season back in 1983:
